Eastern 248 Explorer
The 248 Explorer delivers a classically-styled hard cabin and pilothouse with sliding windows. She’s perfect for cruising and overnighting. With modern composite construction techniques, the house is built with strong foam core, sandwiched between layers of fiberglass. Mounted on a solid fiberglass hull, the light structure above the gunwales enhances the hull’s inherent stability.
With a recommended 150-hp outboard she cruises at 25.9 mph burning only 6.2 gallons per hour. Try to finding another comparably equipped 24-footer with numbers like those! An optional transom bracket maximizes cockpit space and creates quiet operation. This also allows space for a transom door and bench seat. Now add a boarding ladder to create a swim platform.

The cabin offers a V-berth (filler panel with cushion optional), head (portable with pumpout standard, permanent with macerator and holding tank optional), and hanging locker. The swiveling helm and companion seats mount on storage boxes, but the Explorer can substitute a settee to port with a countertop/sink/refrigerator unit just aft for food preparation.
